Filler Dissolving

Sometimes filler treatment does not have the desired effect the patient is looking for and, in these cases, a filler dissolving treatment can be used to break down the filler.

How does Filler Dissolving work?

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) fillers naturally begin to dissolve on their own over time, however, there can be a number of reasons that a patient wants to dissolve their filler faster than it would naturally break down. To break down the filler, we use an enzyme called Hyalase (Hyaluronidase) and inject it near to the filler that needs to be dissolved.

Is dissolving fillers safe?

Yes, dissolving fillers is safe if done by a qualified, medical professional. As with all treatment options, there are risks, but the common side effects such as bruising or tenderness and swelling are short term and fade within a few days. The more serious side effects such as volume loss, skin laxity or allergic reactions are not common but still need to be considered prior to treatment.
